THE BIGGEST MILITARY FESTIVAL IN BALTICS

VALGA MILFEST

International Valga Military History Festival is a unique festival in Baltics. Every year many history reenactment clubs travel to the Festival. We hold reenactment battles from different periods, have a military parade through the city with historical uniforms, and have a big fair. Also, at night there is a big concert where all quests can listen to Estonian best artists.

11.00 – 11.20 Opening of the XIV International Festival of Military History at Valga Culture and Hobby center.

11.20 – 14.15 History of Forest Brothers conference at Valga Culture and Hobby center.

14.15 – 14.55 Motorcade from Valga to Mõniste 40min (additionally from Mõniste by Kuutsi road – 2,2km).

15.00 – 18.00 RUKKILILLE PÄEV/CORNFLOWER DAY

11.00 – 17.00 presentations by Estonian Rescue Board, Estonian Atlantic Treaty Association, Defence Resources Agency, Estonian Red Cross, Estonian Defence Forces and Defence League, Police and Border Guard Board, National Archive, Women’s voluntary defence organization (Naiskodukaitse), Young Eagles (Noored Kotkad), Home Daughters (Kodutütred), Valga County Development Agency, Estonian Neighborhood Watch NPO (Eesti Naabrivalve MTÜ), Estonia-Latvia military history project, and others.    

11.00 – 17.00 get to know the life in a soldier’s camp.

11.00 – 11.20 XIV International Festival of Military History ceremonial line up.

11.20 – 12.20 a stroll on route Valga Vabadussõja (War of Independence) monument – Valga Jaani church – Valga Vabadussõja monument.

 

11.20 – 12.20 performance by Valga Music School’s orchestra (Kesk 22, Valga).

 

12.00 – 15.00 horse-drawn carriage rides by Elukutsar OÜ. Single ride 5€.

12.40 – 13.10 mock battle by Defence League Tartu district.

13.10 – 13.40 musical performance by Untsakad.

13.40 – 14.20 a play about the Forest Brothers.

14.20 – 14.40 musical performance by Untsakad.

14.45 – 15.30 mock battle “NKVD – Forest Brothers”.

 

15.30 – 15.50 musical performance by Untsakad.

15.55 – 16.55 mock battle „Russo-French war of 1812 “.

 

Military theme park (Pikk 16a, Valga)

08.00 – 15.00 Antiquities and crafts market by the Military Museum.

 

Ticket: 2€, also includes entry to the museum.

 

20.00 – 22.20 Festival concert: Liis Lemsalu Band and Karl-Erik Taukar Band.
